EDUCATIONAL ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

  • 1970 — graduated specialized musical school at the Alma-Ata Conservatoire (Kazakhstan), with specialty pianist.
  • 1970 - 1975 — graduated from the Alma-Ata Conservatoire with a major specialty composer, musicologist and the musical subject teacher.
  • 1975 - 1977 — assistant-composer at the Alma-Ata Conservatoire.
  • 1977 - 1978 — post-graduated advance faculty in the Moscow Conservatoire by P.I.Tchaikovsky (Russia), specialty - composer and musicologist.
  • 1986 - 1987 — post-graduated studies at the Leningrad State Institute of theater, music and cinematography name N.K.Tcherkasov (now: Russia’s Institute of the History of Art, St.-Petersburg), department - musical folklore, with specialty folk musicology, ethnoinstrumentology.
  • 1988 — Ph. Dr. thesis in Leningrad’s Conservatoire. Topic: Musical instruments in traditional Uygur culture.
  • 1992 - 1995 — research student of the Eastern Department of the Hermitage. (St.-Petersburg, Russia).

FIELD OF SPECIALIZATION
I held lectures and practical seminars on the next musical disciplines: composition, musical culture on the Silk Road, history and theory of Western and Russian classical music, music and musical instrument’s of the East and West, musical instrument’s of symphony orchestra, piano, etc. From 1990 on I held lectures on the topic "Musical culture of ancient, medieval and modern Xinjiang (on the Silk Road: the 2nd century BC. - 20th century AD)".

  • 1976 - 1979 — lecturer at Alma-Ata Conservatoire (Kazakhstan).
